Final Game of 2011!

Our FINAL game of 2011 season is tomorrow!  The final results might not reflect it but everyone has made great changes over the past couple of weeks.  I loved the improved energy and attitudes on Saturday in spite of the tough game and bad breaks. Let's put all the changes and improvements together tomorrow and finish strong!!

First Game Almost Here!!

Can you feel it ... after practicing all summer, the first game of fall season is just days away!!!

That was a heart breaker!  I'm extremely proud of how everyone played today and very happy with the improvements we've made the past 2 weeks through both tournaments.  I hope everyone enjoyed the tournaments.

One thing I think we'll do different next year though ... is NOT play tournaments on back to back weeks.  I'm exhausted!

Enjoy a few days off.  No practice on Tuesday.  Get out and sell your car wash tickets.  Our next practice will be a scrimmage vs. the D4 team on Thursday.

Falcons to the Semi-Finals!

Way to finish STRONG today Falcons!  I'm proud of the way everyone played, the level of effort, the ENERGY, the teamwork, improved passing ... everything!  Now remember all that and let's do it again in the morning!

Semi-final game: 10:00 am, warm-up at 9:15 am, field 11 (just west of the pavilion). Wear white jersey and shorts, with red socks.  Tonight's curfew is 10 pm  ... GET TO BED!

If ... I mean when ... we win, we will play in the Final game at 2:30 on Field 4.  Come ready to WIN and ready to play at 2:30.  That means preparing food, water, and transportation, depending on if you are staying close to the fields, or going home between the games.  We will also be in our whites for the final game.

Practice Changes

Sorry for the late notice. I had some last minute schedule conflicts come up for Thursday and Saturday.  As a result, I am moving Thursday practice to Friday and canceling Saturday practice.

So ... we have Practice on Friday (8/5), 6:30-8:30, at Bennion JH.  

Please bring any tournament or registration payments that are due.

It's August ... that means TOURNAMENTS!!

August is already here!  Summer is flying by.  We have the Murray Max Tournament Aug 11-13.  Also, based on the overwhelmingly favorable response, we signed up for the USA Adidas Cup, Aug 17-20.  So get ready for a lot of soccer the next couple of weeks.

We were able to reschedule the car wash fundraiser.  That will be on Saturday, August 27th.  So everyone please plan on attending.  Players are expected to participate.  We also will need help from family members, so any parents and older siblings that can help would be greatly appreciated.

If you haven't paid for Murray Max tournament yet please talk to me ASAP.  For the USA tournament please pay $35 at our next practice.

What rain??

Who cares about a little rain anyway?  Thanks to everyone that braved the rain and came to practice.  We started about 10 minutes late, but the rain let up and in the end it was PERFECT!!  Cool temps, soft turf, green grass, and a great practice.  See you again on Thursday at Kennedy!!

Practice Changes

You should already know we moved practice to Friday this week, 6:30-8:00 at Bennion.  We will have practice again Saturday morning (July 23), 9:00a-10:30a, also at Bennion.

Next week due to the RSL soccer camp being hosted by Razzia at Bennion Junior High we will NOT be able to hold trainings at Bennion.  So for next week's sessions on Tuesday, July 26 and Thursday, July 28 we will practice at Kennedy Junior High, 4495 South 4800 West.

Time to Raise Your Level!

It's time to start your personal training by following the iSoccer Summer Workout.  Start your training on Monday, June 27th.  You can track your training with the training guide you received at the team meeting.  Remember just 20-30 minutes every day will help you raise your personal level which will make you a better player and make us a better team.   To download a new training guide or to see the iSoccer session videos checkout the "iSoccer Summer Workout" page (see tab above).

Parents, please encourage your players to dedicate some time every day during the week to work on their skills. Help them track and check-off their sessions everyday.

Excited and Ready to GO!

Now that tryouts are finished and we've almost wrapped up all the registration paperwork we're excited to get started with practices!  Our first practice is this Thursday, June 23, at 6:00 pm at Bennion Junior High.  Please come prepared in soccer attire, shin-guards, and bring a ball and plenty of water.

We are going to do the iSoccer Assessment for our first practice.  To get a sneak peak at the Assessment skills check out the links under "iSoccer Assessment Skills" on the right hand side of the blog.

If you haven't completed your online registration please do so as soon as possible and get the paperwork turned into your coach. We need 2 registration forms, a parent code of conduct form, club copy of the receipt, and a uniform order form, and for new players a copy of their birth certificate.  We also need to take a picture of each player (we can get that at practice).

U-14 TRYOUT RESULTS

As a coaching staff and a club we want to thank everyone that came to tryouts.  We were thrilled with the turn out and the level of competition.  Below are the results for the U-14 Boys tryout.  We were able to fill both teams, but unfortunately we didn't have enough spots to fit everyone.  If you have a question or forgot your number please call the coach.

The following players are invited to play on the D2 team:  342, 345, 348, 366, 371, 373, 375, 377, 378, 383, 384, 538, 546, 603

The following are invited to play on the D4 team: 337, 343, 347, 367, 368, 370, 372, 379, 380, 381, 545, 600, 601, 602

Coach Dallon will also be in touch with the following players that will be invited to play to discuss their selection: 165, 338, 369, 374

We will be making confirmation calls on Wednesday, or feel free to call Coach Dallon to accept your position on the team.  Registration details and further information will be available soon.

Excellent Tryouts

What a beautiful day for soccer!  We had an amazing turn out at tryouts yesterday.  With 29 boys at tryouts we have enough to field 2 teams.  I'm really looking forward to our second tryout session on Tuesday, June 7th, 5:30-7:30 at Bennion Junior High.

Tryouts Tomorrow June 4th

Just a reminder to everyone, tryouts are tomorrow, Saturday, June 4th at Bennion Junior High from 11:00 am -1:00 pm. Come dressed for soccer, bring plenty of water and a soccer ball.

For returning Razzia players the tryout fee is $5, for new players it is $10.  Come at least 15-20 minutes early so you can get registered and ready to start at 11:00.  You can download the registration form to fill out ahead of time from the Razzia website, www.razziafutbol.com, click on Registration/Forms/Tryout Form, or follow this link (tryout form).

End of Season BBQ

Great final game Falcons!  You played hard, showed heart, never gave up, and stuck together as a team.  And how about Brayden's free kick!?!  Finally it went below the cross bar :-)

To finish off this great year we are having a team & family scrimmage and team BBQ.  It will be at the church park behind the church at 3665 S 6000 W, on Friday (5/27) starting at 5:30 pm.  We will have a photographer there to take a team picture so everyone wear your red uniforms.  We'll arrive and let everyone get ready from 5:30-6:00, play from 6:00-7:00, and eat around 7:00.  

Jace's mom Mindy has agreed to organize the food.  She will be getting in contact with everyone to ask for help. Please help her make this a success.  Please RSVP to myself or Mindy (I'll send contact info in an email) and let us know how many of your family will attend.

Falcons you played a great game today, we were just unlucky to not find the net on a couple more plays.  A few inches different and both Braden's and Jace's shot go in instead of hitting the post.  Keep your heads up and we'll be ready for another great game on Saturday.  See you at practice!

GREAT GAME!

Now that is what I've been waiting for!  That was a fun game to watch. Excellent passing, unselfish play, good shot selection, and good effort from everyone.  Let's remember how that felt and do it again on Saturday.

Striker Game Moved to April 28th

The game vs. Strikers in Layton has been rescheduled for April 28th at 6:00 pm.  We will have a practice this coming Thursday and Saturday.  We will then have a week off during Easter break.  Our next game is on Monday April 25th against AC Milan.  I asked all the players to try to keep sharp during our week off.  I would like them to go running at least twice during the week, try to run about 3 miles each time.  Also spend some time every day in the yard or at the park working on juggling, passing, dribbling, and general ball handling.  See you at practice on Thursday!

Excellent Game 1

What an excellent way to start the Spring Season!  I was very impressed by our level of play.  Much improved over last Fall and over last week at our practice game.  So good job and congratulations to everyone!

But, don't get cocky ... we still have 10 games to go and they'll just get tougher.  Starting with Tuesday's game.  The team we play was in Division 1 last Fall.  So be prepared again emotionally and mentally for a tough game.  But if we play like we did Saturday ... we'll do great!  Let's show D2 that we're here to STAY!

Mandatory Practice

Parents and Players please make sure you attend our practice on Thursday, 3/31, 5:30-7:00 at Kennedy.  It is our last practice before our first game of the Spring season on Saturday.

Also, please take a look at the calendar on the webpage.  We've had a few changes and the UYSA schedule is no longer correct for some of the games.

Razzia Falcons 2010 Fall D3 CHAMPIONS!!

UYSA finally ruled on our challenge of the USA game.  They have awarded us the win putting us in FIRST Place in D3 for the Fall 2010 season with a 8-0-2 record!  Congratulations!  That also means that we are moving up to D2.  Now we have to work hard this March to get back in form so we can do better than we did last Spring in D2.

Practice Twice a Week in March

Just a reminder that we are starting 2 practices a week this week through the end of March.  We have practice every Tues and Thurs from 5:30-6:30 at Kennedy Junior High.  After daylight savings we'll be able to go later until 7:00.  See the calendar below for details. 

Weather will be an issue in March.  Please dress appropriately.  Except for heavy rain, snow, or snow on the ground we will have practice.  Call or text me if you have a question.

Everyone needs to bring a ball to practice.  Last week we didn't have enough.

Indoor has begun!!

It was great seeing everyone at indoor yesterday.  After spending so  much time with all of you all year ... I guess I kind of miss you guys :)  I was really impressed with everyone considering we haven't been playing or practicing since October.  I know some of you figured out pretty quick you're not in game shape.

Schedules aren't available yet.  As soon as they are I'll get the game times posted on the website and the team calendar.  I'm also considering starting up one practice a week during February to get us back in shape.  I'll let you know and get you details.
