Second Place!!

Way to go team! After starting the season 1-1-2 we finished with an amazing 7 straight wins! Thank you for working hard and playing hard and having fun. I hope all of you had a fun time this season, I know I had fun time being your coach.

Thanks to the Pfeil's for letting us use their house for the BBQ and thanks to Lorrie for coordinating everything.

Great game today Falcons! That's 10 games down with only 2 more to go. Don't think it's all downhill from here. We need to stay focused and play as well these last two games as we have been playing for the last 5 games. See you Monday in Tooele!!

Practice Rescheduled

Due primarily to the forecasted rainy weather (and partly to the US World Cup Qualifier and RSL games on TV) Wednesday's practice is being moved to Friday at 5:00 pm. Please note the earlier start time!!

So ... no practice on Wednesday, but ... practice on Friday, Oct 16, 5:00-6:30 pm.

Also, If anyone is interested in watching the US World Cup Qualifier game vs. Costa Rica with their coach call and let me know. (ESPN2-HD pre-game coverage starts at 5:30, game starts at 6:00 pm at my house)

YEA Falcons!!!

Incredible game tonight. Beautiful weather, competitive game, and even better we stuck it out and got the win! You guys proved to me tonight that you wanted it more, you ran hard all night, and didn't let getting down 0-1 or the other team getting back to 2-2 distract you from playing tough. You made your coach proud tonight! Good Game!

Congrats on a great game today!
Please note a few changes to the calendar. This Saturday's game (Oct 10) has been rescheduled for Monday, Oct 19 at 6:00 pm. We will have practice this Wednesday at 6:00 pm, and we will add a practice Friday from 5:00 - 6:30. I wanted to add the practice to replace the game to keep us sharp for our Monday game next week vs. Grasshoppers.

Good game everyone! Everyone played well today, I was very impressed with our passing, moving the ball up the wing and great crosses from our wings. Have a great weekend and we'll see you at our game on Monday.

Weather Forecast

For Monday's game the forecast has 60% chance of rain ... so come prepared! They don't cancel games due to rain. So make sure to show up ready to play and wear appropriate clothing. We will have a canopy or two to keep dry when not on the field. Good thing is it's still supposed to be warm. See you at Bennion at 5:00 pm!!

Labor Day Weekend!

As shown on the calendar below ... we will not have a practice this Saturday (Sept 5) or next Monday (Sept 7) due to the Holiday.

See you at Practice next Wednesday (Sept 9) and Friday (Sept 11).

Side note, if anyone knows the whereabouts of Zach, Justin, and Saul ... kick them in the pants for missing practice ;) and tell them to run 5 laps at home!!

Great First Game!!

Great game boys! I was really impressed with how well everyone played. Parents make sure to tell your kids how well they did. For a bunch of kids thrown together this summer they're doing great. Considering our average height was at least a good foot less than the other team we did awesome.

Please notice the calendar at the bottom of the page. No practice on Sat Sept 5or Mon Sept 7 because of Labor Day weekend. But we will have practice on Wednesday Sept 9, and I'm adding a Friday practice on Sept 11 to get us ready after the holiday weekend for our game on Sept 12.

First Game!!

I hope everyone is excited for our first game on Monday!!

Location: Bennion Jr. High, 6055 S 2700 W, Kearns, UT, 84118 (map)
Time: Game starts at 5:30 pm, but I want everyone there at 5:00pm (30 min early) to warm up.
Uniform: Wear your white uniform, but make sure to bring your red jersey in case we have to change.
Opponent: Utah Rush 98 Tiempo

Remember traffic to that area at that time of day can be terrible, plan accordingly.

Preparation: Make sure you have plenty of fluids during the day, eat a good lunch, and a good healthy energy providing snack after school so your body will have the energy it needs for the game. Don't eat too much or drink too much right before the game to avoid side aches or cramps.
If anyone needs help getting their child to the game please give me a call on Sunday or early Monday so that we can make arrangements. With our limited numbers it's critical that we get everyone to every game.

Team Captains

Congratulations to our 2 new team captains, Zach and Giovanni! We voted at practice on Saturday. We look forward to you guys being leaders on our team. (First game 8 days away!)

Our Game Schedule is now available on the UYSA website (see link to right). I've also added it to the team calendar below. Our first game is Monday Aug 31!

Practice Games!

We've arranged to play a Razzia U-13 team during our practice on the next 2 Wednesday practices. Please do everything you can to be there ... we need everyone there so we can play a full 11 v 11. (see updated Calendar below)

Great Practices!!

I want to thank everyone (parents and players) for their extra effort this past week with practices!! It makes a HUGE difference when we have everyone there. Today we had everyone at practice for the first time this summer with 14 players!! Thanks again and we'll see you all on Wednesday!

August Practices

Hey team it's time to step things up to be ready for games in Sept. During August we will have 3 practices per week. So starting next Monday ...

Monday 6:00 - 7:00 pm
Wednesday 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Saturday 9:00 - 10:30 am

On Monday's we will focus on Conditioning and some Technical skills, that practice will only be one hour, but we'll work hard. On Wednesday we will work on Technical Skills (i.e. dribbling, passing, shooting, defending, etc.) And on Saturday we will work on Tactical skills, which have more to do with team formation and working together as a team.

July Practice Schedule

Remember through July we are practicing every Wednesday from 6:00 - 7:30 and every Saturday from 9:00 - 10:30 (both at Kennedy Jr. High). Please call me or send me an email to let me know if you are not going to be able to attend a practice.

Please come in soccer appropriate clothing (cleats, shin guards, shorts) to every practice. Make sure you bring enough water, especially as it gets hotter, and a size 4 soccer ball.

Happy 4th

We will not have practice this Saturday due to the 4th of July. Have a happy Independence Day!! For those of you that missed practice ... we picked a team name. We are now the Razzia Falcons!

First practice is this Wed, July 1, 6:00-7:30 PM, at Kennedy Jr High.

Team Meeting

Team Meeting this Saturday, June 27, at 10:00 am. We will meet at the Pavilion in Hunter Park (3600 S 6000 W). If the pavilion is occupied we will move to the picnic tables under the trees. Bring your game chairs.
