Bouncing Back!

You guys are playing great soccer.  Even the previous three games I feel like we've been playing better as a team ... just haven't found the net often enough and we've had some really weird situations the last 3 games. Way to bounce back and play a strong game start to finish today with good energy and attitudes for the entire game! Love seeing those 3 points for today's game!  Keep up the hard work and great team play and we'll keep putting 3's on the board.

Fall Season

Great tournament last week!  But no time to take it easy. Fall season begins this Wednesday!! Wednesday's game is AWAY in Kaysville at Fairfield JH, 5:30 kickoff, so 4:45 warmup.  It's about a 40-50 min drive from SLC so plan to leave around 4:00 or slightly sooner.  If you need a ride please make arrangements early on Tuesday. 

Please follow this link to review the schedule online. Review it carefully and please let me know ASAP if there are any games that you can NOT make.  If we need to reschedule any games I have to get that started soon. We may try to move most of the 8:30 am Saturday games to later in the day to make it easier for Aram to make the games.  Is that a problem for anyone?

Weekday games will be at 5:30pm, which means 4:45 pm warmup, so that they finish before dark as the season progresses. Please make whatever arrangements are necessary to be able to get to the games on time.

Home games we always wear RED jersey, shorts, and socks and bring white jersey.  

Away games we always wear WHITE jersey and socks with red shorts, and bring red jersey.

The schedule is updated on the team calendar (see below), including games and training. The locations are also included so you can link to Google maps to find the fields for the away game

The club is providing Coerver training again this fall but I don't have schedule details for that yet.  I will get that added as soon as it is available.

New USA Cup Schedule

New schedule for the USA Cup.  They moved the P2 team out of our bracket and combined the Bronze and Silver brackets.  Now there are two groups A and B in the Silver Division.  If we place 1 or 2 in our group then we play in the semi-final.  Win the semi and we can move on to the final. Our new schedule is as follows.

USA Cup schedule

As of today this is the schedule for the USA cup next week.  I spoke with the tournament director and there may be some changes ... but for now this is what is scheduled:

Falcons Schedule Update

For those of you that participated in Coerver Camp, the rained out day
will be made up tomorrow, Monday 7/22 7:00-9:00 at Calvin Smith Elementary.

We return to regular practice schedule this week. Tuesday, 7/23, we
play a friendly against the Razzia U17 D2 team, 6:30-8:00 at Bennion.

Razzia AGM

Just a reminder to everyone, tomorrow is the Razzia AGM, Annual General Meeting, which means BBQ, food, and raffle prizes. I have your raffle tickets so come find me when you arrive to get your tickets. Players and family are invited.

AGM is Saturday, July 20th at 11:30 AM at Pleasant Green Park in Magna, 3200 S 8400 W (map). If you would like to help set up, be there at 10 AM.

Hamburgers, hot dogs, and drinks will be provided. Please bring a side dish or a dessert to share.

Razzia Club Coerver Camp

I've mentioned it a few times but here is a reminder, July 15-19 is the Razzia club Coerver Camp. Our age group is held from 7 pm - 9 pm each day at Calvin Smith Elementary. The cost is $80. It's a great opportunity to get incredible training at an unbeatable price. To register follow this link and sign up.  I encourage everyone to attend if at all possible. Here is a brief description of the camp from their web page:

Coerver/Razzia FC Soccer Camp: This camp will teach more complicated dribbling moves and swiftly puts players into competitive environments with an emphasis on 1v1 and 2v2 play each day. Small group and team tactics are also taught during the week. The importance of fast transition play is stressed and players are encouraged to play creatively and freely and use their new skills in games. Players are also put in many situations requiring decision-making as that is the key ingredient to advanced play. In addition, all players will be trained in:

• Systems of play
• Shooting with Pressure
• Individual and Team Defending
• Individual and Team Attacking
• Team Possession
• Speed Training
• Each player will receive a camp T-shirt and a Certificate of Achievement
• Times, Dates & Places

Tryout Results

Thank you to everyone that came to tryouts this year.  The talent level this year has been the best we've had over the past few years.  You all did very well!  As coaches we are very excited for the coming year.  Results will be posted here by Wednesday morning, June 5th.  Check back then.

TRYOUTS

This coming Saturday (June 1st) is tryouts for the Summer-Fall 2013 season.  Please see below for tryout details.  Please contact me in the next 1-2 days to confirm that you are planning to tryout and return to play with Razzia.  I realize as our players are getting older, going to high school, starting jobs, etc... that there are a lot of interests and responsibilities competing for your attention.  If you are not planning to continue playing with Razzia please let me know as soon as possible.  Likewise if you you are coming to tryouts but are also considering trying out for different clubs, please let me know as soon as possible.

That being said, I hope that everyone is planning to return.  I think we have have been progressing as a team and each year we've continued to improve.  I look forward to improving even more this coming year.  I'm really excited about the Coerver training program that the club has committed to continue providing as a part of your yearly fees.  I think that training is going to give us the edge we need to finally push our way through to D1.

• Cost of tryouts is $10 for each player ($5 for returning Razzia players) this will include a T-shirt for players to keep.

Spring Season All Wrapped Up

I want to thank everyone for all their effort and hard work this Spring season. I'm proud of the way we brought players from multiple teams together in such a short time.  We had a good run and we exceeded my expectations.  Today's loss was a tough way to end the season, but overall you guys played great this Spring.    

Next up is tryouts.  I'll be in touch with each of you shortly about tryouts and your plans for Summer and Fall 2013.  Tryouts will be held on Saturday, June 1st at Bennion Junior High from 2:00-4:00.  See you on the field!

Razzia FC Night at Rio Tinto Stadium Saturday, April 20th at 7pm

RSL takes on expansion rival Chivas USA.

EVERY player from the club will be featured on the field at the match – please wear your Razzia jersey to represent.  For this match, we will be offering players/families/friends a special discount offer of $16/ticket (Reg. $25).

To order tickets, you have two options:

1- If you want to come with your family and purchase tickets individually, please go to http://www.riotintostadium.com/ticket_promotion.php , and enter the promo code “Razzia”. All orders will be directed to sections 4 & 5, which are reserved for the club.

2- If you want to attend the match with your team, please designate someone to organize the group by reaching out to the all the players/families, collect the money, and call Matt Rader at Real Salt Lake (801) 727-2864 or mrader@realsaltlake.com with a team order. This approach will allow you to all sit together as a team.

All players from the club will need to arrive at the stadium by 6:15 pm and report to the SW Corner of the stadium (below section 13) for the pregame ceremonies.

Excellent first game! Things weren't perfect but I loved the passing, the movement, and the hard work. As we get more familiar with each other things will just keep getting better.  See you guys on Thursday.

Spring Soccer

I want to complement everyone on their hard work this winter. I know most, if not all, of you put a lot if time into training and conditioning for high school tryouts.  Congratulations to all those that made their High School team
